Anti-Spam Policy
Water Hawk operates a strict, voluntary, federally-compliant email communication program for two distinct purposes: (1) transactional and subscription email to authenticated users, and (2) commercial outreach to U.S. public-water-utility procurement contacts and chemical-supplier sales contacts whose contact information appears in the public record or whose organizations have requested commercial information.
This policy describes our compliance posture and the recipient's options.
Federal compliance: CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. 7701-7713)
Every commercial email from Water Hawk includes the following, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act and the implementing FTC rule:
- Accurate sender identification. The From, Reply-To, and
message-header routing information reflects the actual sender (Water Hawk, operated by Salian Defense, the parent legal entity).
- Truthful subject line. The subject line accurately reflects the
content of the message and does not misrepresent the substance.
- Clear and conspicuous opt-out. Every commercial email carries a
visible unsubscribe link, an active List-Unsubscribe header (RFC 2369 mailto form and RFC 8058 one-click form for Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo), and a mailto:[email protected] address that is monitored and processed on each receipt.
- Valid physical postal address. Every commercial email carries
the valid physical postal address of Water Hawk (operated by Salian Defense). The address is published on this page and reproduced in every commercial message footer.
- Opt-out honored within ten business days. Unsubscribe requests
are processed in under one business day in practice. The same email address is not contacted again on a commercial basis after opting out; transactional messages required to maintain an existing service relationship (account verification, billing notices) may continue under the CAN-SPAM transactional exemption.
State-law layer: CASL, GDPR, and U.S. state privacy laws
- CASL (Canada): Water Hawk does not target Canadian recipients
as part of its cold-outreach program. Canadian recipients who receive a commercial email in error and who have not consented may unsubscribe immediately; we do not rely on the U.S. opt-out standard for Canadian contacts.
- GDPR (EU/EEA/UK): Water Hawk does not target EU, EEA, or UK
recipients. Any GDPR-jurisdiction recipient may invoke the rights documented in the Privacy Policy, including the right to erasure.
- U.S. state privacy laws (CCPA, CPRA, VCDPA, CTDPA, etc.):
data subject requests are handled per the Privacy Policy. To request deletion of your email address from outreach lists, use the unsubscribe link or email [email protected].
Contact list provenance
Water Hawk's commercial outreach list is built from:
- Public-record contact information for U.S. public-water-utility
procurement officers, posted on agency websites and government procurement portals.
- Self-identified opt-in subscribers who request the free quarterly
chemical procurement report.
- Self-identified opt-in subscribers who request infrastructure-
investor signal updates.
- Inbound contacts who fill the
/request-accessform on
waterhawk.io.
We do not buy email lists. We do not scrape personal email accounts. We do not use harvested data. Contact information sourced from public records is treated as commercial-channel-appropriate (recipient is contacted in their professional capacity, not as a private individual).
Reporting abuse
If you believe you have received unwanted email from Water Hawk and the unsubscribe mechanism is not working, email [email protected]. The address routes to a monitored inbox and is processed within one business day. If the issue is not resolved, you may also escalate to your jurisdiction's regulator:
- United States: the Federal Trade Commission at
[email protected] or reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- Canada: the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications
Commission at crtc.gc.ca/eng/internet/anti.htm.
- EU/EEA/UK: your national data-protection authority.
Bulk-send technical posture
Water Hawk's outbound mail is signed by DKIM, aligned by SPF, and covered by a published DMARC record. We follow Gmail / Yahoo / Microsoft / Apple bulk-sender requirements (May 2024 thresholds and afterward), including the one-click unsubscribe header, list-id labeling, and complaint-rate ceilings. Senders below the 0.1% spam- complaint ceiling, below the 0.3% rolling-30-day ceiling, and with correctly-aligned DKIM are eligible for default bulk-sender treatment; we monitor against those thresholds.
Physical postal address
Water Hawk is operated by Salian Defense, a Delaware corporation.
